Atmosphere - Trevor Paolone

Dear Mike
I will try to keep this short and sweet
I know you’re swamped at the office, still on that grind
And that’s fine
There’s just something that I gotta say
Before you bury yourself in papers and the markets and stocks
I’ve been learning from you
My entire life
I hope I’ve grown to be everything you’ve wanted in me
I’ve never forgotten
The lessons you’ve taught
Everything, from work ethic to the way you treat people
I have admired your upbringing, couldn’t imagine what life was like
Six boys and girls, Bapcia and Pop, in one house
A third of our home, your home, you’ve earned it, enjoy
I’ll have my own
Cause of you, you made me this way
Because, you know, it ain’t about how hard you hit
No, nope, It’s about how hard you can get hit
We keep moving forward, that’s in my heart
Reminded me of the days, sit and watch Christmas Vacation
Hope I can say, I’ve picked up your traits, one day
From the way you light up a room when you walk in
To the way you try to keep all of us happy
I have learned this from you
Eagles, Flyers, Sixers, Phillies games all year
Taught me to drive and to give it my all
I hope I can teach as much as you did to my children
Actually, if I do half of what you do
I’ll be good
A buck twenty, but one ten is heart

  1. I could tell that this poem is from the heart, and how much you loved and cared for mike, your writing made it very easy for me to visualize the things you wrote about
