“Where I’m From”
Early mornings and late nights,
Kick ball games and itching bug bites,
Watching family movies every Sunday to long car rides in the Hyundai
Skateboarding and basketball at the park until our dad screamed” It’s too dark!”
Not religious, not ambitious,
Lacking worries and earning plenty stitches,
Wrestling fights and heated arguments with my big brother,
Getting beat up until I called for my mother,
Dreaming long with my wild imagination,
My dreams are no longer this fascinating,
Getting lost with my grandmother in the middle of nowhere,
Times like these you can’t even compare
Losing in 1 on 1 every time to my brother,
I guess being the youngest made me tougher,
Pancakes and bacon every Saturday morning,
With no responsibility life was rewarding
My life at public school came to an end
When my parents decided EA was the school to attend,
And although I wear this preppy uniform
I'm still the little kid running till my playtime ends.
I really liked this piece because I get the feeling of your life. It flows really well and i enjoyed reading this.
