The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill - Jack Bush

In lost ones she is talking to her ex and saying how even though he thinks he is almighty he isn't. He thinks that he can’t be touched because he is all over the place, but lauryn has been humble and she is ready for revenge. Her ex lost the best thing that ever happened to him.

In Ex Factor she is also talking about an Ex and how he and her can’t love each other because something is overcomplicating things. She doesn’t understand why it can’t work.

This song is about her son named zion. People were telling her that ab baby wouldn’t be good for her career, but she used her heart and had the kid which she now loves so much. She says that he is the joy of her world.

In Doo Wop she is saying that girls are fake and do whatever is popular right now just so they can fit in. She says don’t be a hard rock when you can be a gem, saying that you have to be yourself and you will be a shining star. She says that men need to start acting like men and do what they have to do

In superstar she is saying that musicians are fake and they haven’t changed. She says that they make money and all but they don't spread a good message which they could do with their platform.

Reflection:

I think that in the beginning of the album Lauryn Hill is talking about her love life and it changed from an ex to a person she wants to be with but can’t, which then develops into her child which she expresses means the world to her and she loves even though people were telling her it was a stupid idea to get pregnant and it was going to ruin her career and even her life but she did it and doesn’t regret it. Then she goes into a reflective mood looking at rappers and her life before rap. She looks at how she wanted fame and wanted to be known and she looks at fake people are now and how it used to be so simple to get your message across but people simply are not doing that anymore.
