I trusted you
I can’t believe you would do this
Betray me
Even after all those great memories
All those cold nights we would sleep together
All those long walks we took
And just gone
How many days has it been?
Or weeks? Or months?
I’ve lost track of time
And my will to go on
I’ll just lay here and sleep till I die
But then… The door!
I perk my head up and see you enter
You’re back! I knew you would come back
I run to him and he picks me up in his arms
I kiss his face and he says
“Aww who’s a good boy?”
“Who’s a good boy?”
“Oh yes you are
“Wow Lucky I was only gone an hour!”
I really like this poem because it makes me think really hard. I like how you wrote this from a dogs perspective. I enjoyed reading this clever poem.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first read this piece I was really confused about what was going on. I just assumed it was from a human perspective, but when I thought about it I realized it was from a dog's perspective which made it so much more interesting. I like the fact that I had to think to understand it.
