Frostbite- Lauren Cunningham

Frostbite

Footprints through the white, soft snow A
Layers of clothing, yet still freezing cold B
With the thought of having frostbite on my toes A

Slipping and sliding with nothing to hold B
But my friends arm, pulling her down when I fall C
Feeling clumsy, tired, and out of control B

The cold breeze hitting my face as I begin to crawl C
Legs are in pain of walking for so long D
Getting the thoughts of banging my head on a wall C

Eager to go outside before and realizing now I was wrong D
Not knowing it was as cold as it ended up to beE
Thinking to myself that inside is where I belong D

Deciding to go inside, our faces filled with glee E
Making hot chocolate to keep us warm F

Ending the day in 70 degrees E

  1. I really like this poem. The rhyming is very cool and complex. It makes me feel like I am on a snow day.
