13 Ways of Hearing Silence- Owen Maier
I
Through 30 voices around me
One sticks out
The voice of silence
II
Silence is the only sound
That can truly fill a room
III
Cavities, holes, and spaces
Fills and solids
All occupied with the scream of quiet
IV
Silence accompanies everything
It is with everyone
Without being there
V
The world aspires for noise
So it comes
But the only way to achieve peace
Is to hear silence
VI
Absence of audio
Is the acquirement of thought
Finding the right words
Without hearing them
VII
Finding ways to love
With just movements implied
A way to fight
Is silence making noise
VIII
Love the ride
In silence
For it is the solitude
That excites
IX
Many sweet voices
Together make cacophony
X
It was a loud party
Music, dancing, and talking all around
One longs for isolation
Silence
And travels upwards
Towards peace
XI
Finding the right sound
Is easier than expected
For the noise that has no noise
Is right around the corner
XII
Finding the right voice
To advocate reason
Is the voice that says nothing
But conveys a story
XIII
Silence is always there
Whether you know it or not
Just listen
And you’ll hear
Silence
I really like the topic you chose, this is such a simple thing that has so many meanings. I really like how you really emphasize how silences is everywhere whether you know it or not.
ReplyDeleteThis poem was amazing and what it was written on blew my mind. I liked the ending a lot because it ties it all up.
ReplyDeleteI like this a lot because I have never thought of this before. Once I heard this, I realized that the loudest sound in my ears that I can always find is silence-no matter where I am.
