Atmosphere poem Aedan
Dear Grandpa
Right now Mom really misses ya
Sitting on that couch in orlando
Watching rambo
you're popping and locking chilling out on the beach
My Mom still has to go out and teach
We found you on whitepages we thought you were gone
My parents called it a real phenomenon
Next came the phone calls
hit that do not disturb
we were in the living room scared you were hurt
You finally picked up the phone
“Hello, who's there?”
“Its me, Fiona Crawley, your daughter”
You flew to see us
We had things to discuss
Yet when it came time to talk you didn't open up
We wanted reasons, statements, and facts why you left
But all we got were excuses like you were refusing arrest
She cared about you and you left her with nothing
So she had tough it up and stop all the fussing
Don't get me wrong we still care
But you started a psychological warfare
We still love you
No more christmas cards, Birthday letters, or new year's gifts
we need a new point of view
Please don't jip
I get it times were hard
And you needed to take a break
But my mom wants you back
after that huge heartbreak
I think that anyone with a distant relative can relate to this poem, since you do a great job of presenting this as personal but also a bit broad. Your storytelling is incredible as well, with the dialogue fitting perfectly in with everything else.
ReplyDeleteThis poem did a great job of setting a dark tone while still engaging me into reading more, it made me sad to read this which I think is a good sign that your writing is good.
