my mix tape - Jack Bush

  1. Eminem - “Rap God”

This song is called rap god by Eminem. This song came at a time where Eminem hadn’t done much in 3 or so years, he was still relevant he just hadn’t had any new music. In this song he really shows his rap on he can rap going from slow almost talking to speaking at an incomprehensible speed that almost no had ever heard. This verse where he speed through amazed people. It’s called Rap God it’s correct because Eminem is one of the greatest rappers ever told and showed people why in this song.

  1. Eminem - “Forever” ft. Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne

This song is called Forever by Eminem featuring Drake, Kanye and Lil Wayne. This song is legendary. It is written and features the best in hip hop right now. Each verse is better than the last. In Drake’s verse he drops the iconic, “Last name ever first name greatest, Like a sprained ankle boy I ain’t nothing to play with.” “There they go, packin' stadiums as Shady spits his flow, Nuts they go; Macadamian, they go so Eminem opens his verse up with this line which was crazy and set the tone for his verse,“There they go, packin' stadiums as Shady spits his flow, Nuts they go; Macadamian, they go so ballistic, whoa.”

  1. Bryson Tiller- “Rambo”

This song is called Rambo by Bryson Tiller. It has great flow with rhymes such as, “This ain’t temporary I’ve been out here letting them know new cat years later, best sylvester stallone.” This is him flexing saying that he’s here to stay and he’s even better than stallone who played rambo who we all know is a badass. And this flexing is the whole theme of the song which is what I like about it.

  1. Logic - “Super Mario World”

This song is called Super Mario World by Logic. I like this song because of the flow that Logic keeps throughout the song. He keeps repeating oh my goodness throughout the song which is kind of shows T”ell 'em, "Title your album, A Fish Outta Water" Cause that shit be floppin'—You fuckin' suck… Number 1 my shit droppin'. Love it or hate it, they know the name. They know the name cause it's poppin”

  1. The Beastie Boys- “Intergalactic ”

This song is called Intergalactic by the Beastie Boys. This song is great because it was revolutionary in sound and style. The lyrics were fairly simple with mainly end rhyme there was there were also many monosyllabic rhymes which gave the song a great flow. The song was also revolutionary because of the video that went along with it in how they were walking toward the camera throughout new york.

  1. PnB Rock - “Ballin”

This song is called Ballin by PnB Rock. It is a good hype song with a pretty good message. It’s really all about confidence and telling people that if they’re not going to be with you when you don’t have anything then they shouldn’t expect anything once you're up. It also about being real to people and too keep doing what you're doing.

  1. Montana of 300 “White Iverson Milly Rock (Remix)”

This is Montana of 300’s White Iverson’s Remix which is originally by Post Malone. Montana takes the beat and puts more of gangsta rap on it. His flow is crazy and all of his rhymes are on point he nailed the beat and managed to work in Iverson a lot. But instead of saying white Iverson he makes it more toward Allen Iverson, even referring to reebok saying he’s paid (reebok was one of iverson’s sponsors). He also refers to crossing people up which Iverson was the king. Other basketball references included Kobe, D Wade, and Phoenix Suns.

  1. Carnage - “WDYW” ft. Lil Uzi Vert, A$AP Ferg and Rich the Kid

This song is called WDYW by Cranage featuring Lil Uzi Vert, A$AP Ferg and Rich the Kid. WDYW stands for what do you want which is repeated many times in the song. This song is simply my hype song. I love the beat and it always make me go crazy when I turn it all the way up.

  1. Chance the Rapper- “Blessings” ft. Ty Dolla Sign
This song is called Blessing and it is by Chance the Rapper featuring Ty Dolla Sign. It is slower than most of the other songs on here, but it is very meaningful. Chance speaks about things that many things that people thing will never happen but he shows them what he did and it shows that since he can do this, anything is possible. It also has the meaning of being true to yourself and doing what you want to do and not what someone pressures you into doing.

  1. Kodak Black - “Too Many Years” ft. PnB Rock

This song is called Too Many Years by Kodak Black featuring PnB Rock. I like this song because you can hear Kodak’s pain and remorse in the words and beat. The chorus which is done by PnB says that “I’ve been jail too many years,” he also goes on to say how much he misses the people who he’s lost while he was in jail and how he wishes he could go back and do something about it. Kodak say in his verses how he needs to change and how he wishes he could have done it earlier before spending time in jail. This is important because it reminds me to always do the right thing because you don’t want to end in jail missing out on things.

  3. One of my favorite songs is Too many years and I feel like I could see where you're coming from when you say you could hear his pain and remorse.

  4. I liked how you included the song "Blessings" on here. As you noted in your paragraph, the pace, sound, and subject matter of the song seems like an anomaly based on the hip-hop we have listened to recently. It's cool you included it for a change of pace.
